Extraordinary Heat Wave Expected from April in Various States

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that the temperature will rise above the normal levels across the country from April to June. The heat wave intensity is expected to double in central and eastern parts of India, according to IMD predictions.

Except for some areas in the west and east of the country, unusually high temperatures are expected across most regions during this period. The minimum temperatures are also expected to be above normal.

Typically, the country experiences four to seven heat waves between April and June. However, this year, states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu are likely to experience a higher number of heat waves.

In states like Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, the number of heat waves is expected to reach up to 10-11.
