Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi schools and canteens have banned junk food. Strict rules have been imposed to instill healthy eating habits among students.
Schools must provide healthy and nutritious food to students and staff. Food service operators must obtain licenses and maintain guidelines as prescribed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).
A new policy implemented by the Department of Education for the 2024/25 academic year requires schools to take steps to actively monitor students during snack/meal times.
