No semester system, CBSE to conduct board exams twice a year

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Education has directed the CBSE to prepare for conducting board exams twice a year from the academic year 2025-26.

The instructions were given to develop infrastructure. For this, the Ministry and CBSE will hold discussions with school principals from next month.

It is learned that the CBSE has initiated the process of revising the academic calendar to conduct the examinations so that the timing of the degree admissions is not affected. The CBSE also stated that it has abandoned the process of starting the semester system in schools from the next academic year.
