Kottayam: Adoor Gopalakrishnan has resigned as chairman of KR Narayanan Film Institute. The resignation was handed over to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Adoor stated that he resigned in protest against the moves against Shankar Mohan. Adoor said that the allegations against Shankar Mohan are baseless. Shankar Mohan resigned amid the caste discrimination controversy at the institute. Shankar Mohan’s resignation came before the release of the report of the commission appointed by the government to investigate the complaints of caste discrimination.
Adoor’s tenure as chairman of the KR Narayanan Institute is till March 31.
