New Delhi: After the confirmation of a new covid variant in the country, the Center has tightened the restrictions. It has been decided to impose covid restrictions including masks in the country. The health department has directed the states to make masks mandatory in connection with Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Further testing should be done to identify the covid variants. It was decided in a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister to take precautions in the event of the reported covid variant. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the country’s hospitals are well prepared to face the threat of covid spread.
Covid tests should be increased in the country. Surveillance should be strengthened including at international airports. The states should take care to ensure basic facilities in the hospitals. The prime minister gave a warning that the states should take care to make things including masks mandatory.
The Prime Minister directed to take care of matters including vaccination for the elderly and those with poor health conditions, including monitoring the increase in the price of essential medicines.
