Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavya had said in the Lok Sabha that the country’s covid cases are being monitored and people should be cautious. He had requested people to use masks, sanitizers etc. and not to let down their vigilance during festive seasons.
In the last 24 hours, 5.37 lakh new covid cases have been reported in various countries. Most patients are in countries like China, US, Japan, South Korea, France and Brazil. The BF7 omicron variant that caused the spread of new covid in foreign countries including China has been confirmed in India. The new variant was found in the states of Gujarat and Odisha. Emerging reports indicate that BF7 is the fastest-spreading variant.
