Equal pay for male and female players; BCCI with historic announcement

New Delhi: India’s men’s and women’s cricketers will henceforth get equal match fee. BCCI General Secretary Jai Shah announced this through his Twitter handle. When the equal match fee announcement is implemented, players will get Rs 15 lakh for Test matches, Rs 6 lakh for ODIs and Rs 3 lakh for T20Is. Former India all-rounder Mithali Raj supported the BCCI’s decision. The star thanked BCCI and Jai Shah.

Meanwhile, it is reported that there may not be a star auction in the Women’s IPL. Instead, there will be a draft system adopted by the Big Bash League as well. Cricbus also reports that there will be an open auction for the teams. The first season of Women’s IPL will be held by March 2023.
