Thiruvananthapuram: The weather department has warned that there is a possibility of widespread rain in the state today. A yellow alert has been announced in 9 districts today. Yellow alert in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. The warning also states that there is a possibility of widespread rain in the southern districts.
As the wind speed is likely to be 40 kilometers per hour, fishermen going to the sea are also advised to be careful. The Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in isolated places. There is no restriction on fishing on Kerala-Lakshadweep-Karnataka coasts.
