Unconstitutional remarks: Case filed against Saji Cherian

Thiruvananthapuram: Police registered a case against Saji Cherian on the complaint of making unconstitutional remarks. An FIR was registered by Kirvaipur police on charges of contempt of the constitution. It is an offense punishable with imprisonment of up to three years.

The Tiruvalla 1st Class Judicial Magistrate Court had ordered the Kirvaipur Station House Officer to file a case on Saji Cherian’s speech. The action was taken on a petition filed by Baiju Noel, a native of Kochi.
