Kochi: Another arrest has been registered in the Manasa murder that shook Kerala. Rakhil’s close friend Aditya was arrested in the Manasa murder case. He was taken to Bihar for evidence.

Rakhil went to Bihar with Aditya after his relationship with Manasa broke down. It was from here that he collected the gun used to commit the murder. Sonu Kumar Modi and Manesh Kumar Verma, both from Bihar, were earlier arrested in connection with the sale of a gun to Rakhil.

Sonu Kumar Modi was arrested by the Kerala Police from Munger, a major center for the manufacture and sale of counterfeit firearms. The information provided by Sonu Kumar helped in the arrest of Manesh Kumar, a taxi driver and a Bassar resident, a middleman in the gun selling.

New Delhi: Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya has resigned. Secretary to Governor BK Sant said the resignation letter was sent to President Ram Nath Kovind.

The resignation is reportedly part of a move into active politics. There are indications that Babyrani Maurya may contest in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Baby Rani Maurya will take over as the Governor of Uttarakhand on August 26, 2018. She was the seventh Governor of Uttarakhand. Baby Rani Maurya is the second woman to become the Governor of Uttarakhand after Margaret Alva.

NCB issues notice to Rakul Preet and Charmi Kaur

Mumbai: Investigative agencies are questioning more South Indian actors in drug cases. Bahubali star Rana Daggubatti appeared for questioning at the ED office in Hyderabad today. The NCB, ED, and Crime Branch Special Investigation Team are also focusing on various actors.


The ED had registered a case in connection with money laundering of over Rs 30 crore. Rana Daggubatti is currently being questioned in connection with the investigation of this case. This is the second time Rana Daggubatti has been questioned in connection with the case.


The NCB has issued notices to popular actresses Charmi Kaur and Rakul Preet Singh. The ED has said that Rakul Preet Singh will be questioned again. Charmi Kaur was questioned by the ED yesterday. Following this, the NCB is also preparing to question them.
According to a charge sheet filed in the Karnataka Crime Branch, Anushree, a prominent Kannada actress and anchor, is a major dealer in the drug network. According to the charge sheet, forensic examination revealed that Anushree had used drugs.

The apex court rejected the plea to Postpone the NEET exam

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has rejected the demand to postpone the NEET examination for medical admission.  The apex court rejected a petition filed by a section of students seeking postponement of the exam.

The petition referred to the covid situation.  The court ruled that the exam, which was written by 16 lakh students, could not be postponed due to the demand of some students.  The court also issued notice to the Central Government on a petition questioning the decision to ensure 27 per cent OBC reservation and 10 per cent financial reservation in medical and dental admissions.

Second dose of covishield vaccine can be taken after 28 days: Hc

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has ruled that the second dose of covishield vaccine can be taken after 28 days. The court directed that changes be made to the Cowin website. The proposal was made at the request of Kitex.

The central government has stated that the second dose of the Covshield vaccine can only be given after 84 days. Rejecting this, the High Court has directed that the second dose can be taken within 28 days.

Currently, those going abroad in the state are given a second dose after 28 days. This is done through a special registration system. The court asked why others did not receive the vaccine in this way. The High Court ruled that all applicants could take the second dose after 28 days, citing discrimination. Justice P.V. Suresh Kumar considered the petition. The court had earlier sought an explanation from the central and state governments.

Housewife murdered in Panikankudi; The accused was arrested

Idukki: Accused arrested in Panikkankudy housewife murder case.  Panikankudi Manikkunnel Binoy was arrested by the police from Perinchankutty. He was apprehended from the Perinchamkutty Bamboo plantation area, about 5 km from the spot.  According to the mobile tower location, the police had been monitoring him in the Perinchakutty area for two days.  It is learned that he was caught while trying to swim across the Chinnar river from near the bamboo forest to the other side.
 His mobile phone had been spotted at the Katadipara tower location since Monday morning.  For the past two days, police have been inspecting private buses and other vehicles passing through the Adimali Kallarkutty area.  Another team was conducting inspections at the Tamil Nadu border.

Sindhu has been missing since the morning of the 12th from Panikkankudi.  The relatives had also lodged a complaint with the Vellathooval police.  Meanwhile, the disappearance of Manikunnel Binoy, who had been with Sindhu, strengthened the suspicion of relatives and locals.

The information about the murder came out when the relatives came to the house at around 3 pm and searched it.  The house was opened after Sindhu’s younger son’s revelations about changes in the house.  The police had been conducting investigations in three teams led by the Idukki DySP.  Accused Binoy was taken to the Vellathooval Police Station.

Threat message that INS Vikrant will be bombed and destroyed

Kochi: Anonymous message received by Indian Navy aircraft carrier that INS Vikrant will destroy after the bombing.  The message was received via the email of Kochi Shipyard.  Ernakulam South police have registered a case against the shipyard and started an investigation.  It is learned that various central agencies have also started a preliminary investigation into the incident.  INS Vikrant is in the final stages of finishing work after the final phase of testing.  Meanwhile, the threatening message came.  The message came from an email introducing himself as a sailor.  Police have launched an investigation.

Election victory: Notice to K Babu on Swaraj’s complaint

Kochi: M Swaraj’s petition seeking annulment of K Babu’s election victory in Tripunithura.  Notices were sent to the opposition including K Babu.  The case is set to be heard next month.

According to the Swaraj petition, Babu had requested votes in the name of Ayyappan and had violated the election code of conduct.  He distributed slips stating a vote for Ayyappan -slip in the constituency.  The slip included a picture of Ayyappan and Babu’s name and election symbol.

K Babu propagated that the match was between Sabarimala Ayyappan and M Swaraj and if Swaraj wins, it will be Ayyappan’s defeat.  According to the petition, Ayyappan’s name was also used in the graffiti.

Chance of heavy rain in Kerala; Yellow alert in nine districts

Thiruvananthapuram: Chance of heavy rain in Kerala today.  Following this, a yellow alert was declared in nine districts of the state.  The Bay of Bengal is experiencing heavy rainfall over low pressure.  The low was formed off the coast of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.  Rain warning for Central and North Kerala.

The yellow alert was issued in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.  Yellow alert has been declared in all seven districts tomorrow.
 The alert was issued in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Tuesday.  Fishermen have been warned not to go to sea until Tuesday.
