LPG price hiked to Rs 2,000 per cylinder

New Delhi: LPG prices have risen sharply in the country.  The price of a commercial cylinder has been increased.

The price has been hiked by Rs 266 per cylinder.  The price of a 19 kg cylinder has crossed Rs 2,000 in Delhi.  The new price in Delhi is Rs 2,000 for 50 paise.  Earlier it was Rs 1734.  With this, the price of a commercial cylinder in Kochi became Rs. 1994.

In Mumbai, the price of a commercial cylinder has gone up to Rs 1,950 and in Kolkata, it has gone up by Rs 2,073 to Rs 50 paise.  In Chennai, the new price is Rs 2133.  The price of a domestic cylinder has not increased.

Restoring general coaches on trains; Passengers can travel without reservation

New Delhi: Following the expansion of covid, general coaches are being replaced on trains that used to run only as special trains and reserve coaches.

 The decision has been taken to start general coaches in 23 trains under the Southern Railway from Monday.  The Railways has also decided to reinstate six general coaches from November 10.

 From today, you can travel on season tickets on trains so that you can travel without reservation.  Season tickets will be reinstated on general coaches on express trains from today.

The unreserved ticketing system in mobile will be enabled from today.  Ticket counters will also function as usual. When the lockdown is announced on March 24, 2020, season tickets will have 20 days left to travel and will be reinstated upon renewal.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a meeting of states to review the vaccine supply in the country. The meeting was convened on November 3 in states where vaccine supplies are lower than the national average. The meeting will be attended by the Chief Ministers of eleven states. States like Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar will participate.

Kochi: A big gold hunt took place at Nedumbassery airport. Two persons have been arrested with gold worth Rs 2.5 crore. Seven persons were arrested with five kilos of gold. The suspects were taken into custody during a search conducted by the Customs Preventive Unit.

The carriers for smuggling gold were arrested. They brought gold from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Saudi Arabia. Preliminary information is that the gold was brought to some jewelers in the northern districts. The inspection was carried out by a team led by the Joint Commissioner of Customs Vasantha Keshan.

Despite the arrest of a large group of people who smuggled gold through the Thiruvananthapuram airport and the central agencies like NIA and Customs have intensified their investigation, the smuggling of gold in the state continues unabated.

24 more daily necessities through ration shops

Thiruvananthapuram: Department of Public Distribution with the decision to distribute 24 items of daily necessities through ration shops.
The decision has been taken to shift the daily necessities being distributed through Supplyco outlets at subsidized rates to ration shops.

The agreement is to start the project tomorrow. Ration cards including rice, sugar, coconut oil, chilies, and peas can be purchased from ration shops.

Subsidized food items are now being distributed through Supplyco outlets, including Maveli stores. Three months ago, the government received a recommendation from the Director of Public Distribution to shift the supply to ration shops. With the implementation of this, the face of ration shops will change. Ration shops will rise to the level of supermarkets where you can get all the daily necessities together at a reasonable price.

Ration cardholders will also get relief from the hassle of having to travel to the ration shop and Supplyco outlets several times. As the number of Maveli stores, Supplyco supermarkets, people bazaars, and hypermarkets decreases, crowds will change. The government has directed that queuing of disabled and senior citizens at ration depots should be avoided and they should be given priority.

Two more terrorists arrested in Jammu and Kashmir: 25 arrested so far

Srinagar: Two more people have been arrested for plotting terror attacks in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ishfaq Ahmed Wani and Umar Bhatt were arrested by the National Investigation Agency. The militants were identified in a probe into the recent attacks in Kashmir by various militant groups.

The NIA arrested 25 people in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, the military operation to find the terrorists has entered its 21st day. The drone was spotted on the Indo-Pak border in Punjab yesterday. The drone was found within the confines of Ajnala police station in Amritsar.

BSF officers opened fire on the drone. With this, the drone crossed the border and went to the Pakistani side. The security forces said they suspected the drone was used to smuggle weapons or other items into India. So far, nine soldiers have been martyred in clashes with terrorists in the country.

Dehradun: The death toll in a road accident in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun has risen to 13. Four people were seriously injured.
The vehicle overturned on the Bulhad-Baila road in Chakrata tehsil.

The crash site is 170 km from the capital Dehradun. The Prime Minister’s Office has announced that Rs 2 lakh will be provided from the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to the families of those killed in the accident. The office said the injured would be paid Rs 50,000.
