The mask made mandatory again in the state

Thiruvananthapuram: The health department has made the mask mandatory again in the state. The move comes against the backdrop of rising covid cases in the country. Failure to wear the mask will result in a fine. The mask was made mandatory in public places and workplaces by order of the Chief Secretary.

The Prime Minister had today convened a review meeting with the Chief Ministers of the states in the wake of rising covid cases. In the absence of the Chief Minister, Health Minister Veena George attended the review meeting.

Anganwadis must produce a fitness certificate within 10 days

Thiruvananthapuram: Health and Child Development Minister Veena George has directed the Director, Women and Child Development to ensure the safety of Anganwadi buildings in the state. The Director, Women and Child Development Department has directed the Program Officers and CDPOs to produce the fitness certificates of all the Anganwadis within 10 days. If the existing building is not safe, another building will be found immediately and the anganwadis will be relocated there.

Kottayam ICH will provide free treatment to a three-and-a-half-year-old boy who was injured in the collapse of the Anganwadi building in Vaikom, the health minister said. In addition, Rs 1 lakh will be allotted as emergency financial assistance to the child. The ICDS superintendent responsible for the incident in which a three-and-a-half-year-old boy was injured when the Anganwadi building collapsed has been suspended from service. Steps were also taken to seek clarification from the District Women and Child Development Officer, Program Officer and Child Development Project Officer.

Approval for three vaccines for children

New Delhi: The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGA) has approved the immediate use of three vaccines in children under 12 years of age. Licensed for Covaxin by Bharat Biotech, corbeVax by Biological E Ltd, and ZyCovD by Cadillac Healthcare.

With the approval of more vaccines, the Ministry of Health may soon approve the vaccination of children in the country. CorbeVax is used in children between the ages of five and 12, Covaxin in children between the ages of six and 12, and ZycovD in children between the ages of 12 and 14.

Covid confirmed to more than a hundred students at IIT Madras

Chennai: The 32 students in  Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-M) test covid positive. With this, the number of students affected by covid has crossed 100, according to the Tamil Nadu Health Department. Health Secretary Dr. J. Radhakrishnan instructed the students to monitor the health of the students on campus and maintain social distance. In the context of the covid, Dr. J. Radhakrishnan and Chennai Zonal Medical Officer Dr. Albie also visited the institute and interacted with students and teachers.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in a virtual meeting asked the district collectors to ensure that the public adheres to the covid protocols as they are concerned about the spread of the fourth covid. Stalin said that government systems must be prepared to deal with any situation.

Chance of thundershowers and winds in Kerala for the next five days

Thiruvananthapuram: Chance of thunder and rain for the next five days. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast isolated thundershowers over the next five days in the state due to low pressure over South India and a combination of east and west winds.

In case of notice of breakage of power lines and posts due to wind and rain, the information should be reported to KSEB Control Room No. 1912 or District Disaster Management Authority Control Room No. 1077. The chance of thunderstorms is highest between 2 pm and 10pm. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has directed the state government to be extra vigilant at this time.

Srinivasan murder: Four more arrested today

Palakkad: Four more persons were arrested today in connection with the murder of RSS worker Srinivasan. The ADGP said Abdurahman, Feroz Basit, and Rashil were arrested. Abdurrahman and Feroz were among the killers. Rashil passed the information to the killer group. The ADGP said Basit and Rushdie were involved in the conspiracy. The number of people arrested so far is 13, investigators said.

Covid control tightens in Karnataka too; Masks made mandatory

Bangalore: As the spread of covid in Karnataka intensifies, restrictions are being tightened. The mask must be used when people go out. The state health minister Dr. K Sudhakaran said that unnecessary gatherings should be avoided.  

The minister said the people should strictly abide by the covid defense guidelines and maintain social distance.  Meanwhile, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomme had convened an emergency meeting to assess the situation in the state in view of the recurrence of covid disease in the country.

Currently, the situation is under control in Karnataka, but the mask has been re-enacted as a precautionary measure in view of the rising incidence of the disease in other states. Delhi and Tamil Nadu have made the mask mandatory.
Covid disease is on the rise again in the country. In the last 24 hours, 2541 people have been diagnosed with the disease. 30 deaths were also reported.

Chandrabose murder case: Supreme Court rejects Nisham’s bail plea

New Delhi: The Supreme Court h  as rejected the bail plea of businessman Nisham in the Chandra Bose murder case. The government asked the court not to grant bail to Nisham, who is serving a life sentence. Nisham is the accused in the murder case of Thrissur Sobha City Security Chandrabose.

The Supreme Court has directed that the appeal filed by Mohammad Nisham against the life sentence awarded in the murder case of security guard Chandrabose should be disposed of within six months. The apex court bench comprising Justices Indira Banerjee and AS Bopanna passed the order.

The apex court said Nisham could approach the court for stay of sentencing or bail if the appeal is not settled within six months. The apex court did not accept Mohammad Nisham’s demand that he be granted bail now.

Adolf Mathew, counsel for Mohammad Nisham, and Nishe Rajan Shonker, standing counsel for the state government, appeared. The court sentenced Mohammad Nisham to life imprisonment and 24 years in prison in the case.
