Istanbul: Turkey ends rescue operation in Syria earthquake. This was stated by the authorities of the Turkish Disaster Management Authority. The massive earthquake in Turkey and Syria has claimed tens of thousands of lives. In order to bring out the people trapped under the debris of the building, many rescue workers from countries including India carried out rescue operations day and night in the disaster-affected area.

Internal assistance from the World Health Organization and other countries was available in both earthquake zones. So far, 45,000 deaths have been reported in Turkey and Syria. Search and rescue operations for people trapped in the rubble have reportedly ended in most provinces.

The head of Turkey’s Disaster Management Authority, Yunis Cesar, told an international media outlet on Saturday that the search would end by Sunday night. Turkey is reeling from the worst disaster in its history. César added that Turkey has been significantly affected by the damage from the earthquakes and aftershocks.

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit southeast Turkey and neighboring Syria on February 6. The magnitude of the earthquake left more than 45,000 people dead and over a million homeless, causing a massive crisis for both countries. Estimates suggest that the economic cost will be in the billions of dollars. Many countries who understood the severity of the earthquake came to Turkey and Syria with a helping hand, which was a great relief for both countries.

Bribery Case: The crime branch interrogated Adv. Saiby Jose

Kochi:  Lawyers Association leader Saiby Jose has been questioned by the Crime Branch in the case of taking money from parties to bribe judges. CB took the statement from Saiby Jose twice. But Saiby reiterated that the case against him was a conspiracy and that no bribe had been taken.

It is reported that Saiby has stated that he did not take bribes on behalf of the judges and only took the lawyer’s fees. Saiby, who is also the former president of the High Court Lawyers Association, was summoned to the Ernakulam Police Club three days ago.

Alappuzha Unit SP KS Sudarshan is investigating the case under the supervision of Crime Branch Chief ADGP Dr. Darvesh Sahib. The police had filed an FIR against advocate Saiby Jose in the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court in the case of bribery to judges. The case was registered under Section 7(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.

Huge evasion in diesel brought to KSRTC depot

Thiruvananthapuram: Huge evasion in the quantity of diesel delivered to Thiruvananthapuram Nedumangad KSRTC depot. There was only 14,000 liters of diesel in the 15,000 liter tanker brought to the depot.

Diesel is supplied by a company called MS Fuels in Nedumangad. When the staff discovered the shortage of diesel, the company delivered the remaining 1,000 liters of diesel. KSRTC would have faced a huge loss if the employees had not discovered the quantity in the diesel. The depot officials said that the manipulation of the quantity has been reported to the higher officials.

Govt employees banned from starting YouTube channel

Thiruvananthapuram:  Government employees of the state are banned from starting YouTube channels. The action is because earning income through such channels would be a violation of the code of conduct. The Additional Chief Secretary made this clear in response to a letter sent by the Fire Rescue Service seeking permission to carry out artistic activities on digital media.

According to the Government Servants Code of Conduct, 1960, there is no income other than salary. Posting a video or article on the internet or social media can be considered a personal activity and creative freedom, but starting a YouTube channel and uploading videos is a source of income.

Maoist group in Kannur

Kannur:  Maoist presence again in Kannur. The Maoist group reached Kottiyoor Koonampulla Colony. The group reached Dinesan’s house. A four-member team consisting of two men and two women in uniform reached the colony last night.

The group returned after charging the phone and collecting food items from Dinesan’s house. The Maoists were in the colony for two hours. The police have started an investigation into the incident. Forest guards also informed that there is Maoist presence in Kottiyoor Ambayathod area. It was around 5.30 pm yesterday that the forest guards noticed that the Maoists were walking through the forest near the Mele Pal pass.

Mumbai:  The Central Election Commission has recognized the Eknath Shinde faction as the original Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena’s election symbol, arrow, and bow has been allotted to the Eknath Shinde faction.

The Election Commission’s decision is a heavy blow to Uddhav Thackeray’s faction. With this, the Shinde faction can use bow and arrow in the Maharashtra by-elections. The Election Commission has also observed that the amendments made by the Shiv Sena party in 2018 have not been submitted to them. Therefore, the Election Commission has said that the current constitution of Shiv Sena is not valid.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s reaction to the Election Commission’s decision is a victory for Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology. Uddhav Thackeray has not yet responded to the issue.

Kozhikode: Police seized gold worth Rs 62 lakh, which they tried to smuggle through Karipur airport. Mohammad Shanif (21), a native of Kanhangad, Kasargod, was arrested in connection with the incident. He was caught trying to smuggle gold hidden inside his body. 407 grams of gold was seized in Nedumbassery today. The gold was seized from a passenger named Nishad who came from Dubai. Gold worth Rs 20 lakh was seized.

In the last 21 months, the customs preventive department has conducted a record gold hunt. During this period, one ton of gold was seized by the Customs Preventive Department in Kochi. This includes the gold that was seized by the customs officials at the Nedumbassery airport.

Kochi: In the Kochi Kalamassery fake birth certificate case, the main accused Anil Kumar, who was produced in the court, was remanded. Anil Kumar, the accused who was arrested, testified that there was a financial transaction in the case. Anil Kumar also admitted to the police that the money was received through various bank accounts. Anil Kumar was an administrative assistant at Kalamasery Medical College.

After the police registered a case on the issue of a fake birth certificate, the main accused Anil Kumar went absconding. Then, after the case was registered by the special team, his movements were monitored. Meanwhile, the investigation team arrested Anil Kumar from near Madurai in Tamil Nadu this morning.

The accused, who was brought to Kochi in the evening, was later produced before the court after a medical examination. The court considered the application of the police and remanded the accused Anil Kumar. Police investigations have revealed that Anil Kumar misused his position as an administrative assistant to create a fake birth certificate.

The accused also admitted to the police that there was a financial transaction in the incident. The statement given by the accused to the police is that the money was bought through various bank accounts. Clarification will also be sought from Anil Kumar in the matter of influencing the temporary employee who was handling the kiosk of birth and death certificates in the Kalamassery Municipal Corporation as an employee of the Superintendent’s office.

New Delhi:  Jammu and Kashmir have declared Ghaznavi Force and Khalistan Tiger Force as terrorist organizations. The crucial decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Ministry assessed the KTF (Khalistan Tiger Force) as a challenge to national security and integrity. It was also found that the JKGF (Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force) was recruiting people from banned terrorist organizations.
