Doctor Vandana’s Murder: Investigation has been started

Kottarakka: Kollam Rural Crime Branch DySP MM Jose has started an investigation into the stabbing death of young female doctor Vandana at Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital. The custody application for the accused Sandeep will be submitted on Monday.

DySP reached the Kottarakkara taluk hospital and collected the evidence.
Measurements of various parts of the emergency room where the violence took place were recorded and scientific tests were carried out. Taluk Hospital’s C.C. TV The team also checked the footage and took the hard disk into custody.

Kottarakkara Police will check the witness statement already recorded and if necessary, the statement will be recorded again. Accused Sandeep will be taken into custody on Monday. Also, the accused will undergo a medical examination again. An eight-member team has been appointed for the investigation. ADGP MR Ajithkumar reached the hospital along with the investigating officers and assessed the current progress of the investigation. ADGP visited the injured policemen in Sandeep’s attack.

Kerala CBSE Class 12,10 Exam Results declared; Thiruvananthapuram region came first with 99.91 percent success

New Delhi: CBSE 10, 12 exam results declared. 87.33 percent pass rate when the CBSE class 12th exam results were declared. CBSE Class 10 results 2023 data show that out of the total 21,84,117 students registered, 21,65,805 appeared for the board exam. Among them, 20,16,779 students passed the exam, resulting in a pass percentage of 93.12 percent. Thiruvananthapuram region came first with 99.91 percent success. With 78.05 percent success, Prayagraj is the last on a regional basis.
To avoid unnecessary competition among the students, the results have been announced in divisions one, two, and three. 

The Supreme Court canceled the promotion of 68 judges

New Delhi: A huge setback for the Gujarat government. The Supreme Court blocked the promotion of 68 judicial officers, including the magistrate who punished Rahul Gandhi. A bench of justices MR Shah and CT Ravikumar will hear the proceedings. The stay was based on the recommendation of the High Court and the notification issued by the Gujarat government.

The Supreme Court pointed out that the recommendation and notification are illegal. The interim stay of the court is on a petition challenging the appointment. The promotion of Harish Hashmukh Bhai Verma, who passed the verdict that disqualified Rahul Gandhi, was earlier controversial.
The Supreme Court also mentioned that promotion should be done based on merit and seniority.

Drug smuggled from Pakistan using drones: Three people nabbed by police

Punjab: Delhi Police arrested 3 people who smuggled drugs from Pakistan through a drone. Malhit Singh, Dharmendra Singh, and Harral Singh, natives of Punjab, were arrested. The operation was based on the information received by the Counter Intelligence Unit of the Delhi Police.

The Delhi Police informed that the leaders of the drug smuggling gang from Pakistan have been arrested. They used to distribute drugs smuggled from Pakistan to various states. The money transfer to Pakistan was done through a Hawala transaction.

Mobile numbers in the USA and Philippines were also found from them. The police said that they had received instructions from these numbers to collect drugs from Pakistan and that they have been distributing drugs in the country since 2010.

A newborn baby was strangled to death in Idukki

Idukki: A newborn baby born to the other state laborers in Idukki Kambhammettu was strangled to death. The baby was strangled immediately after birth. The baby was born to Sadhuram and Malathi, natives of Madhya Pradesh. Both of them were staying together in Kambammet.

The baby was born to both of them while they were preparing to get married next month. The baby was strangled to death immediately after birth. The post-mortem report proved it to be murder. Sadhuram was immediately taken into police custody. Malathi is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The police said that the accused confessed to the crime. According to the police, the accused confessed that they committed the brutal crime because they were afraid that they would be thrown out of the house if the child was born before marriage.

Imran Khan should be released, arrest is illegal; Supreme Court of Pakistan

Islamabad: Ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan relieved in corruption case. The Supreme Court of Pakistan declared Imran Khan’s arrest illegal. The court ordered the release of Imran Khan as soon as possible.

Imran Khan was arrested from the court premises on Wednesday. After the arrest, there was a huge conflict in Pakistan. More than 1500 people were arrested and deported. Rangers arrested Imran Khan outside the Islamabad High Court. Imran Khan was arrested in connection with a corruption case. Several cases were registered against Imran Khan after leaving power.

Imran Khan’s party PTI claims that Pakistan Rangers pushed Imran Khan during his arrest and injured him. Imran is facing several corruption cases, including that he illegally acquired and sold the gifts he received during his tenure as Prime Minister. Imran was not present despite being asked to appear for questioning several times in the cases.

Several attempts were made to arrest Imran in the Tosha Khana scam case. The Toshakhana case is that valuable gifts were bought and sold at a low price from Toshakhana, a department that stores gifts received from abroad.

Cyclone Mokha: Rains will continue in the state

Thiruvananthapuram: There is a chance of rain in the state. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that rain is likely at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha districts.

Cyclone Mokha formed in the Bay of Bengal is the reason for rain in Kerala.

Cyclone Mokha will form in the next few hours. Mokha will not directly affect Kerala. However, the Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a chance of rain with thunder and lightning in isolated places.

Cyclone Mokha forms later than expected. After forming a cyclonic storm, Mokha is expected to move in a north-northwest direction and then move towards the coast of Bangladesh and Myanmar. The speed will be up to 130 km per hour. 

Terror funding case: NIA raid in Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: NIA raids 11 locations in Kashmir Valley. The National Investigation Agency’s probe is related to the Jamaat-e-Islami terror funding cases. The NIA raids were conducted in Budgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Pulwama.

The NIA on Wednesday seized the properties of three persons found to be involved in militancy-related activities in the Kashmir Valley.
The central agency has attached six shops in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and one house in Kupwara. It also includes a two-room building in Shopian. The assets were confiscated on the orders of a special NIA court in Jammu.

Son-in-law of Tamil Nadu minister arrested in molestation case

Chennai: Police have arrested Satish Kumar, son-in-law of Tamil Nadu Devaswom minister PK Shekhar Babu, in a molestation complaint. The lady had lodged a complaint alleging that she had been raped by a promise of marriage. The arrest was based on a complaint lodged by the woman at the Otteri police station in 2018, alleging that she had a 4-year relationship with Satish Kumar and that he had cheated on her.

Satish has been absconding since May 2022. Later, the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. The police said that Satish is included in the list of regular criminals.
Meanwhile, Satish’s wife and Shekharbabu’s daughter Jayakalyani came forward alleging that the police filed a case against her husband on her father’s instructions. She also said that Shekhar Babu was opposed to her love affair with Satish.

Chief Minister MK Stalin has filed a defamation case against BJP President Annamalai

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has filed a defamation case against BJP state president K Annamalai. The City Public Prosecutor accused Annamalai of defaming Chief Minister MK Stalin. The BJP leader had recently alleged that MK Stalin had paid Rs. 200 crore in 2011 to secure the Chennai Metro contract. Annamalai claimed that leaders of Stalin’s party, DMK, acquired assets worth Rs 1.34 lakh crore through corruption and alleged that the chief minister’s family members were directors of a Dubai company investing in the state.

A notice was sent to Annamalai asking him to apologize and withdraw the allegations, but he refused. Following that, the case was filed.
Minister Udayanidhi and MP Kanimozhi had also sent notices demanding compensation against Annamalai.
