Actress Anumol celebrates Marvelous Women’s Day with the release of 4 movies and one web series on OTT in a single day

Actress Anumol has made a significant impact on the Malayalam movie industry through her outstanding performances in various roles across numerous films. Now, she has achieved a rare feat of multiple releases in a single day. On the recent International Women’s Day, four of her movies and one web series were released on OTT platforms. The film industry considers this a dream-like achievement that rarely occurs for any actor in world cinema.

Anumol, who began her career as an anchor, has immortalized characters with significant acting roles in Malayalam cinema, in her own unique way. The first season of the Tamil web series “Heartbeat,” consisting of four episodes, has now been released. Anumol stars as Dr. Radhi, the central character in the medical drama depicted in “Heartbeat,” which delves into the backdrop of the medical field. The creators announce that the second season of the series will soon be available. Deepa Balu, Yogalakshmi, and Thapa are among the other main characters in the series. Electoral bond information should be released immediately; Supreme Court ultimatum to SBI

New Delhi: Supreme Court criticizes SBI in electoral bond case. The Supreme Court directed that the SBI should hand over the information of the money received by the political parties under the bond to the Election Commission on Tuesday and the commission should make it public by March 15.

The action of the Constitution Bench chaired by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud is considering the petition given by SBI seeking time till June 30 to provide information about the bonds.

The court inquired what action was taken by the SBI even after 26 years of the Supreme Court verdict. The court directed that all the information related to the election bond should be kept in the Mumbai branch of SBI and the same should be made public.

SBI told the court that it needs more time to combine and transfer the information of the bond buyers and the parties who received the money.

Agni-5 missile successfully test fired, 7000 km range

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the first test of the Agni-5 missile, developed as part of India’s defense project, Operation Divyastra, was a success. Agni-5 is a multi-target missile capable of using a launch vehicle.

Once the targets are breached by the warheads, the launch vehicle will return. It can also be reused. Agni 5 can be used as warheads on missiles including nuclear weapons.

It uses Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. There are indications that a woman led the project and developed the missile, but her name has not been officially released.

Welfare pension was granted; Delivery from 15

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has sanctioned one month welfare pension in the state. The Finance Department has announced that the pension will be distributed on Friday.

The pension has been sanctioned while the arrears of seven months are pending. 900 crore rupees are required to pay welfare pension for one month. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the pension will be paid soon and there is no need to worry.

CAA in effect: Notification issued by Union Home Ministry

New Delhi: Citizenship Amendment Act in effect. Union Home Ministry has issued a notification in this regard. Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier said that the CAA will be implemented before the Lok Sabha elections. The CAA Act was passed in Parliament in December 2019. This Act shall be known as the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2024.

The Citizenship Amendment Act came into force. The CAA announcement was made by recalling the policemen who were on leave to duty and providing massive security in Assam.

Ramadan to begin in Kerala on Tuesday

Kochi, March 10, 2024: The holy month of Ramadan will begin in Kerala on Tuesday, March 12, after the crescent moon was sighted on Monday evening.

The announcement was made by prominent Muslim scholars in the state, including Panakkad Sayyid Sadiqali Shihab Thangal, Sayyid Muhammed Koya Thangal Jamalullaili, Khaleelul Bukhari Thangal, and Palayam Imam Suhaib Moulavi.

In the Gulf countries, Ramadan began on Monday itself, as the crescent moon was sighted there on Sunday evening.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, and focus on prayer and charity. It is considered to be a time of spiritual growth and renewal.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, and is considered to be the most holy month of the year. It is a time when Muslims around the world come together to fast, pray, and reflect on their faith.

Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszková is Miss World.  After 28 years in the competition held in India, Indian beauty Sini Shetty made it to the top eight, but then failed to reach the top four, ending India’s chances. 

 The Miss World pageant was held at the JIO World Convention Center in Mumbai.  Yasmin of Lebanon, HH Abrahams of Trinidad and Lesogo of Botswana have made it to the last four apart from Krystyna Pyszková.  Miss Lebanon is the first runner up.

 On the occasion, Reliance Foundation Founder and Chairperson Nita Mukesh Ambani was honored with the Miss World Humanitarian Award.  Miss World Organization Chairperson Julia Morley presented the award.

4 percent increase in dearness allowance of central employees

New Delhi: As the Lok Sabha elections are around the corner, the Dearness allowance (DA) of central employees has been increased by four percent.  The decision was taken at the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The enhanced Dearness allowance will come into effect from 1st January 2024.  449.18 lakh central government employees and 67.95 lakh retirees will benefit from the increase in dearness allowance.

 The dearness allowance has been increased based on the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.  Before this, the  allowance was increased in October.
