Along with Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi has also been sentenced to seven years in prison. The verdict was postponed 3 times for various reasons on Friday.

In December 2023, the National Accountability Bureau registered a corruption case of Rs 1554 crore against eight people including Imran Khan and his wife. The case is about misappropriation of 1554 crore rupees returned to Pakistan by the UK’s National Crime Agency as part of a settlement with a real estate businessman. Imran Khan is currently in jail in a corruption case. Meanwhile, he has been sentenced to prison in a new corruption case.
