Thiruvananthapuram: In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, it was decided that quarantine is sufficient only if those coming from abroad have covid symptoms.
Only those with symptoms should be tested. The CM also decided that there should be no unreasonable charges for tests, including rapid tests, at airports.
Expatriates should be charged only what they can afford. The Chief Minister directed the Health Department to take necessary action in this regard.
The meeting also approved the recommendation of the Health Experts Committee to change the existing norm that international travelers should undergo RTPCR inspection on the eighth day after departure.
