Isolated Heavy Rains Expected Today in the State; Yellow Alert in Two Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy rainfall in the state today. A yellow alert has been issued for Kannur and Kasaragod districts. The continuous rain in the state is due to a low-pressure area that has formed over Gangetic West Bengal. The IMD further stated that this low-pressure area is likely to move towards the Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh regions, and rainfall is expected to continue until the 12th. Along with heavy rain, winds gusting up to 50 kmph are also possible. Meanwhile, fishing has not been banned off the Kerala coast.
