Praveen Sood appointed as CBI director

Bangalore: Current Karnataka DGP Praveen Sood has been appointed as the new CBI Director. Praveen Sood has been appointed as the new CBI Director as the current CBI Director Subodh Kumar Jaiswal’s two-year term comes to an end on May 25. His tenure will be two years. Earlier, Praveensood was included in the shortlist of the committee comprising the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
Praveen Sood was appointed over Madhya Pradesh DGP Sudhir Saxena and Taj Hasan. Congress had come against the appointment of Praveen Sood. But Sood’s appointment overcame the opposition of the Congress. Praveen Sood is a 1986 batch IPS officer.
