Kochi, July 19, 2025: The official teaser of ‘Hridayapoorvam’, the much-awaited Malayalam film reuniting superstar Mohanlal with director Sathyan Anthikad, was released today at 5 PM. Set to hit theaters as an Onam release on August 28, the teaser has already generated a wave of excitement among fans.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, this family drama promises to deliver Sathyan Anthikad’s signature storytelling with heartfelt emotions. The 1-minute-8-second teaser offers glimpses of the characters and storyline, with Mohanlal portraying the character Sandeep Balakrishnan.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Pratap, Sangeetha Madhavan Nair, Siddique, Lalu Alex, Baburaj, Janardhanan, and S.P. Charan in key roles. This marks Malavika Mohanan’s first Malayalam film alongside Mohanlal. Sangeeth Pratap, known for his notable performance in ‘Premalu’, is also expected to shine in this project.
The story, penned by Sathyan Anthikad’s son Akhil Sathyan, has been adapted into a screenplay with dialogues by Sonu T.P. Anoop Sathyan serves as the associate director. The film features music by Justin Prabhakaran and cinematography by Anu Moothedath, adding to its appeal.
Set in Pune, ‘Hridayapoorvam’ is said to revolve around familial bonds, infused with humor and subtle commentary on social issues, a hallmark of Sathyan Anthikad’s filmmaking style.

This marks the 20th collaboration between Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad, following their last joint venture, ‘Ennum Eppozhum’ in 2015. With iconic hits like ‘Nadodikkattu’, ‘Pattanapravesham’, and ‘Varavelpu’ to their credit, this reunion is anticipated to be a special Onam treat for fans.
Following the success of ‘L2: Empuraan’ and ‘Thudarum’ at the box office this year, Mohanlal is poised to captivate audiences once again with ‘Hridayapoorvam’.
