Unexpected lockdown in China: People trapped in malls locked inside

China

Beijing: Tight Covid restrictions continue in China. Lockdowns have been announced at various locations in Beijing following the confirmation of covid by six people.

Authorities also closed the Ruffles City Mall in Beijing.

Authorities closed the mall because the man who had been in contact with the covid patient had visited the Ruffles City Mall in Dongchang. Authorities say the insiders will be released only after the covid test.

Scenes of several people queuing for the covid test inside the mall have surfaced on social media. Six covid cases were confirmed on Thursday in Beijing’s Chaoyang and Haidian. Covid reportedly confirmed this to them through contact from the Jalin area in the northeast.
