Thiruvananthapuram: The Met Office has forecast heavy rains with thunderstorms in the state till Thursday. A yellow alert has been declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts till Wednesday. Eleven districts received yellow warnings on Thursday. Strong winds and high tides are likely along the Kerala coast. The cyclone in the Bay of Bengal has turned into a low-pressure area, causing heavy rainfall in the state. Low pressure is formed off the coast of Sumatra in the Bay of Bengal.
