Thiruvalla: Income Tax department seized more than 50 lakh money from the headquarters of believers Church in Thiruvalla. The raids were based on specific inputs on alleged tax evasion and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violations conducted by the Thiruvalla-based Church.
Statewide, 40 institutions of this Believers Church was raided by the IT. Church-owned colleges, schools, and trust offices, K.P. Yohannan’s house were also searched.Officials said, more than 57 lakh money seized from the vehicle at that location in Thiruvalla. The Income Tax Department also seized many documents from various institutions.
