The NIA has arrested four more people in connection with the gold smuggling case. C.V. Jifsal, P. Aboobacker, Mohammad Abu Shameem, and Abdul Hameed were arrested. There are a total of 25 accused in the gold smuggling case. Five more are yet to be arrested.
Meanwhile, NIA raided various jewelry shops in Kozhikode in connection with gold smuggling. But there are indications that crucial information has not been received. The probe team had raided KT Samju’s wife’s house and a friend’s house in the morning.
The NIA first came to K.T. Samju’s wife’s house in Eranjikal. Investigators found that Samju had sold gold through his father – in – law’s jewelry. The raid was based on this. After more than an hour and a half of inspection, the team returned with the documents.
Shortly afterward, the NIA inspected jewelry at Kammath Line and Vattakkinar in Kozhikode. Some documents were found but no conclusive information was obtained.
