Karachi: At least 18 people were killed when a train hit a bus in Pakistan. Several people were also reported injured.

The bus was trying to cross unmanned railway crossing in Pakistan’s Southern Singh province and hit by a train, reports said.

The Pakistan Express train was traveling from Karachi to Lahore. The accident happened in the Sukkur district of Singh province.

Sukkur Deputy Commissioner Rana Adeel said 18 people were killed and 55 injured in the accident.

The condition of many of the injured is critical, he added. Railway officials said that the loco pilot was also injured in the accident. The bus was reportedly split into two. A railway investigation into the incident has been announced.
