Thiruvananthapuram: Monsoon rains strengthening in the state. Heavy rains are expected until tomorrow morning, the Met Office said. Yellow Alert has been announced in all districts. In the current scenario, the monsoon withdrawal is likely to be delayed by two weeks. In the last 24 hours, rainfall in Vadakara was 10 cm, Konni 7, Alappuzha and Nedumbassery six centimeters. Rainfall will be widespread in all districts. Isolated heavy rains are also possible.
The rains are back on the coast of Karnataka. It is aimed at the Goan coast. The Orange Alert was announced today in all districts of the state. The fishermen should be vigilant as strong winds can blow up to 55 kmph on the Kerala coast, the Met Office said. The state has received 13 percent more rainfall so far.
