Kochi: On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan initiated young children into the world of letters and learning during the traditional Ezhuthiniruthu (Vidyarambham) ceremony held at his residence and office in Paravur.
The event saw a remarkable turnout this year, with families traveling from various parts of Kerala—ranging from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. More than 25 children were formally initiated into education by V.D. Satheesan. Parents and toddlers began arriving at his residence and office as early as 6:00 AM.
Holding their small hands and placing them on rice grains, the Chief Minister guided the children to write their first letters—‘Hari Sree Ganapathaye Namaha’. Wishing the toddlers a bright and successful educational journey, he warmly welcomed them into the realm of knowledge.
Vidyarambham is a traditional South Indian custom observed on Vijayadashami day, marking a young child’s formal commencement into education, literature, and learning.
