PALAKKAD: In a significant verdict, the Palakkad District Additional Court has found the accused, Chenthamara, guilty in the shocking Nenmara double murder case. The ruling convicts Chenthamara, a resident of Pothundi Thiruthampadam, for the brutal hacking and murder of Sudhakaran (55) and his mother Lakshmi (75) at Boyan Colony in Thiruthampadam, Nenmara.
The tragic incident took place on January 27, 2025. The court’s verdict comes following a trial spanning one and a half years after the crime.
The case stems from a deep-seated, long-standing animosity that wiped out three members of the same family over time. In 2019, Chenthamara had previously murdered Sudhakaran’s wife, Sajitha. While out on bail for Sajitha’s murder, he attacked and killed her husband and mother-in-law.
According to the prosecution, Chenthamara harbored a fierce grudge against Sajitha and her family, blaming them for his wife leaving him. This vendetta eventually led to the targeted killings of Sudhakaran and Lakshmi once he was out of prison.
Notably, Chenthamara had already been sentenced to double life imprisonment and a financial penalty by the court for the 2019 murder of Sajitha. With the court now declaring him guilty in this subsequent double murder case as well, the pronouncement of his sentence is expected shortly.
