Aishwarya Rajan, content creator and elder sister of popular actress Anaswara Rajan, has opened up about her long and grueling battle with chronic physical pain. In a heartfelt disclosure, Aishwarya revealed that a disc issue that started during her teenage years has now progressed into a painful medical condition called Fibromyalgia.
Aishwarya’s health struggles began at the age of 16 following a complicated appendicitis surgery that left her on bed rest for months. By the time she turned 20, severe spinal disc issues emerged, making it impossible for her to sit continuously. “During my final year of graduation, I couldn’t sit for more than 30 minutes. I had to attend college classes and even write my exams while standing up,” she shared.
Despite trying various treatments ranging from expensive Ayurvedic procedures to physiotherapy, she found no permanent relief, with some failed treatments even leaving her with physical trauma and bruising.
Currently, at 28, Aishwarya is battling Fibromyalgia—a chronic disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain. “Except for my lips and ears, it hurts wherever anyone touches my body. Painkillers offer no relief, and I became identified merely as ‘the girl with the back pain’.”
She added that the condition severely impacted her personal relationships as well. “I even lost a relationship because questions were raised about whether I would be able to give birth or be a ‘perfect woman’. I am sharing this not for anyone’s sympathy, but because I am now in a phase of healing and wanted to speak about it with clarity,” Aishwarya said.
