Acclaimed yesteryear actress Lissy is breaking her long hiatus from the screen, making a much-awaited return to acting. She is featuring in the latest commercial for Kalyan Jewellers, which is directed by none other than veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan. Adding more charm to the visual reunion, the advertisement also features their daughter and popular actress Kalyani Priyadarshan alongside veteran actor Prabhu Ganesan.
This collaboration marks the first time Lissy is working under Priyadarshan’s direction since the historic 1988 blockbuster film Chithram. Lissy made her acting debut as a lead actress in Priyadarshan’s Odaruthammava Alariyam and went on to work in several projects with him. The couple married in 1990, after which Lissy stepped away from the film industry. They separated in 2016 after 26 years of marriage but recently reunited, revealing that they are living together again.
Behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot has already gone viral, showcasing heartwarming moments of Kalyani hugging her mother on set, and Lissy sharing a warm embrace and discussing the script with Priyadarshan.
