Director and Bigg Boss Malayalam winner Akhil Marar has lashed out against online media channels and YouTubers for their insensitive coverage during the funeral of legendary actor Salim Kumar. Marar’s statement comes in the wake of widespread trolling faced by several film personalities, particularly actor Tini Tom, who attended the final rites.
Expressing his anger, Akhil Marar stated, “These toxic online media groups must be controlled. When I warned Tini Tom about this a year ago in his capacity as an AMMA official, he looked down upon my advice with contempt. Today, time has returned it with tears.”
Marar strongly emphasized that human privacy must be respected at all costs. He demanded that the government and judiciary intervene to implement strict regulations and legal boundaries for online media platforms. He urged for proper licensing and accountability to stop channels from exploiting personal tragedies for views and clicks.
