As intense discussions continue within the Congress regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate following the UDF’s resounding victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, actor Siddique has come forward with a strong appeal. In a detailed Facebook post, Siddique urged the Congress High Command to select V.D. Satheesan as the state’s next Chief Minister.
Siddique emphasized that the public expects V.D. Satheesan to lead the state, and any move to elevate another leader through internal group politics would be unacceptable. “We cannot imagine anyone else, not even Rahul Gandhi, as the Chief Minister. If anyone else is given the post through group politics, the people will neither tolerate nor forgive it,” Siddique warned.
Praising Satheesan’s leadership, Siddique noted that he was the only leader who boldly and confidently predicted that the UDF would secure over 100 seats to form the government. He described Satheesan as an efficient leader who upholds secularism, remains unyielding to community leaders or external threats, and stands firmly by his principles.
Calling himself a common man who has supported the Congress since childhood and continues to hold legends like K. Karunakaran and Oommen Chandy close to his heart, Siddique urged the national leadership not to ignore the will of the people. He concluded by asserting that “V.D. Satheesan” is the only name the public wishes to see as the Chief Minister of Kerala.
