ALUVA: In a world where academic pressure often takes a heavy toll on young minds, 16-year-old Aneekshadh from Aluva is on a mission to ensure that no student feels driven to the brink. What started as a personal concern has evolved into a massive global outreach initiative, connecting this young Malayali student with world leaders, international ministries, and global NGOs.

A Global Network of 25,000 Emails

A student of SNDP Higher Secondary School, Aluva, Aneekshadh has already communicated with over 25,000 organizations, universities, and government offices across 100 countries. His goal? To study international models of mental health support and implement them in India.

His efforts have already gained official recognition. The Local Youth Development Office of the Philippines recently issued a formal letter recognizing Aneekshadh as a Global Outreach Collaborator for his contributions to their youth mental health movement. He is also actively collaborating with organizations in Jamaica and Malawi to foster psychological exchange programs for students.

A Record-Breaking Archive of 60,000 News Clippings

For the past three years, Aneekshadh has maintained a staggering archive of nearly 60,000 newspaper clippings. Focusing primarily on student suicides and youth politics, he analyzes how narratives are shaped and how information impacts society. With this collection, he is currently on the path to breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of news clippings, aiming for a milestone of 100,000.

“The rising rate of student suicides in India is my primary motivation. By connecting with global experts, I want to bring world-class mental health support to our doorstep and eventually see the student suicide rate drop to zero,” says Aneekshadh.

Impacting Local Policy: A Dialogue with Kerala Police

Aneekshadh’s activism isn’t just international—it’s hitting home. Disturbed by the spike in suicides during SSLC and Plus-Two exam seasons, he petitioned the Kerala DGP. His detailed report, backed by NCRB data, prompted the DGP’s office to coordinate with District Police Chiefs in Thrissur to issue special directives aimed at protecting student well-being during high-pressure exam periods.

The Vision Ahead

Currently residing on SP Office Road, Aluva, Aneekshadh plans to study law to advocate for a dedicated ‘Suicide Prevention Commission’ in India through Public Interest Litigations (PIL). He is also currently co-authoring a self-help book for Indian students in collaboration with the Chance Rehabilitation Centre in Jamaica.
