Malayalam actress Ahaana Krishna has shared a deeply emotional and poignant note on social media following the demise of her beloved grandfather on March 29. Pouring her heart out, the actress penned a touching tribute that reflects her profound grief and the beautiful memories she shared with him, leaving her fans and followers teary-eyed.
Ahaana revealed that she initially waited to write about the loss, hoping she would first come to terms with it. However, she realized that she might never fully make peace with his absence. “Without a goodbye, My Appuppan left us on the 29th of March around 4.30 PM and a piece of me left along with him,” the actress wrote, adding that a part of her will always remain in denial.
Reflecting on his declining health in recent years, Ahaana noted how the fear of losing him pushed her to make as many memories as possible. While those moments now offer her a sense of comfort, they also bring the painful realization that such wholesome happiness belongs to the past, making everything hereafter feel a little incomplete.
In a beautiful expression of gratitude, she thanked her grandfather for both the little joys and the profound impacts he had on their lives. She thanked him for buying her best dresses as a baby, getting her first plane ticket, neatly wrapping her school books, and teaching her the art of enjoying food. She also credited him for giving her mother the best childhood and paving the way for the quality of life their family enjoys today.
Finding solace in the thought that he is no longer suffering, Ahaana expressed relief that he is finally free from his physical ailments. “I hope it’s great to finally not have to eat 15 medicines a day. I hope it feels nice to not need anybody’s support to do your routine things and I hope it’s exciting to not have to go to the hospital anymore to deal with diabetes and stroke,” she wrote, hoping he is now hale, hearty, and at peace in heaven.
The actress concluded her tribute with a heart-wrenching question: “Bye Appuppa….. ini njan aare Appuppa nnu vilikkum?” (Bye Appuppa… who will I call Appuppa now?). Fans, well-wishers, and colleagues from the film industry have flooded the comment section, offering their deepest condolences and sharing words of comfort with the grieving family.
