Gen C’ Protests Erupt Again; Curfew Imposed in Nepal

Curfew Imposed in Nepal

Kathmandu: Nepal has reimposed a curfew after fresh “Gen C” protests erupted in various regions. The curfew has been enforced from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. (local time) in view of escalating tensions and clashes.

According to national media, the decision was taken after members of the “Gen C” movement clashed with CPN-UML workers in Nepal’s Bara district. Following the violent confrontation, protesters poured into the streets, prompting authorities to declare a curfew.

Several people were injured in the clashes. Officials said the situation is currently under control, but the government remains on high alert. The “Gen C” agitation, which has triggered widespread unrest across Nepal, has resurfaced after nearly two months of relative calm.
