New Delhi – Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has been granted bail in a defamation case related to remarks he made against Home Minister Amit Shah in 2018. The comments implied that even those accused in murder cases could become BJP presidents. BJP worker Pratap Katiyar filed the complaint, alleging that the statement insulted party workers. The court for representatives in Chaibasa, Jharkhand, granted conditional bail. The case was originally registered in Ranchi and later transferred to Chaibasa in 2021.
