Thiruvananthapuram: The nationwide strike called by joint trade unions against central government policies has entered its ninth hour, creating a ‘bandh’-like atmosphere across Kerala.
Although a limited number of KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) buses are operating, pro-strike activists are blocking them in several places, leaving commuters stranded.
Many bus stands are witnessing people waiting for hours for buses. Even hospital staff are among those stuck on the roads. With employees unable to reach their workplaces, many hospitals have arranged vehicles to transport their staff.
