Thiruvananthapuram: Ravada Chandrasekhar officially took over as the Director General of Police (DGP) for Kerala today. He assumed his duties at the state police headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram this morning after arriving from Delhi earlier in the day. DGP is also scheduled to participate in a meeting called by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kannur.

Meanwhile, the appointment of Ravada Chandrasekhar as DGP has sparked significant criticism within the CPM, primarily due to allegations linking him to the Koothuparamba firing incident. However, state secretary M.V. Govindan and other leaders have clarified that Ravada had no involvement in the incident, dismissing the need for controversy.
