New Delhi: India reported 11 COVID-related deaths in the past 24 hours, with 7 deaths from Kerala (5 men and 2 women). Other deaths were reported from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Delhi.
Active COVID cases dropped by 119 to a total of 7,264 nationwide. Kerala reported 87 recoveries, bringing its active case count to 1,920. All those who died had underlying health conditions.
Health Minister Veena George urged caution among the elderly and those with comorbidities. She emphasized the continued need for mask usage in public places and said genomic sequencing is ongoing to track new variants.
