Disturbance at school sports meet: Three-member committee to probe

 Thiruvananthapuram: The Public Education Department has appointed a three-member committee to investigate and submit a report on the attempt to disrupt the concluding session of the State School Sports meet in Kochi.  In the meeting presided over by Public Education Minister V Sivankutty, it was also decided to seek an explanation from Thirunavaya Nava Mukunda and Kothamangalam Mar Basil schools.

 Additional Secretary of Public Education Department M I Meenambika, Joint Secretary BT Biju Kumar, SCERT Director Dr. K Jayaprakash and others are members of the committee. The committee should submit its report within two weeks.

 In the context of sports schools and general schools competing together in the fair, a committee consisting of experts in the field of sports will be appointed to conduct a study and prepare a proposal regarding the selection of the best school.  Based on the report of the committee, the meeting also decided to revise the manual if necessary.
