Kozhikode: Police have filed a charge sheet in the Pantheerankavu domestic violence case. There are 5 accused in the case. The charges include attempted murder and dowry harassment. The police have submitted the charge sheet while the defense is arguing that the case should be quashed by showing that the victim has withdrawn from the case.
Husband Rahul is the first accused. Rahul’s mother, sister and 2 are the three accused. The fifth accused is Sarath Lal, a police officer who tried to escape Rahul abroad. The police filed the charge sheet on the 60th day after the case was registered.
The investigation team submitted the charge sheet while the appeal of the defense is to be heard next month. The case is that a woman from Paravur was brutally beaten for dowry. The family of the woman lodged a complaint in the incident, but later the woman withdrew from the case.
