Parliamentary elections are over; Kuwaiti cabinet resigns

The Kuwaiti cabinet resigned after the parliamentary elections.  Resignation is part of the constitutional process after the election is over.  The cabinet headed by Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Sabah Salim Assabah took office on January 4.

 Prime Minister Dr. Muhammad Sabah Salim Assabah handed over the resignation letter to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Ahmed Jabir Assabah.  The resignation of the cabinet is in accordance with Article 57 of the Kuwaiti Constitution.  The cabinet will continue till the new government takes over.

 It is reported that the new government will be formed before the first session of the 18th National Assembly on Wednesday.
