Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan defied security advice and took an unexpected stroll through Calicut’s bustling SM Street. He said he visited SM Street to buy halwa, a popular Indian sweet.

After savoring halwa at a sweet shop, the Governor walked down the street, interacting with students and locals, and even taking selfies with them. Leaders of the Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), were also present with the Governor.

Governor Khan asserted that he needs no security. He clarified his earlier remarks about Kannur, stating that they were misinterpreted. He claimed that the same people who caused violence in Kannur district were trying to intimidate him.

“I will definitely go out in the city. I don’t need any security. The people of Kerala love me. Only the SFI is protesting. Nobody will attack me,” the Governor declared.

He also took the opportunity to commend the Kerala Police, calling them the best in Kerala. However, he added that the problem lies in not allowing the police to do their job.
