The PG Doctors’ Association has removed Dr. Ruwais, who is accused in the suicide incident of Dr. Shahna. The KMPGA organization said that the action was taken to ensure transparency in the investigation. The organization pointed out that asking and giving dowry is a social evil.
Shahina, a native of Venjaramood, a PG student in the surgery department of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, was found dead in her flat. Minorities Commission Chairman Adv. AA Rasheed filed a suo moto in the case. The Commission directed Thiruvananthapuram District Collector, Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner and Director of Medical Education to appear in person at the Thiruvananthapuram district sitting on December 14 and submit a report.
