Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in the state till Thursday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has advised fishermen and coastal residents to be alert as there is a possibility of 0.5 to 1-meter high waves and storm surge in Kerala till midnight on Monday.
Move to a safe building due to the possibility of lightning. Open spaces increase the risk of lightning strikes. Keep windows and doors closed and stay away from doors and windows. Unplug household appliances. Avoid children playing in open spaces and terraces.
