Tehran: Responding to India’s request, Iran confirmed that while its airspace remains restricted due to rising tensions with Israel, land borders are open for the safe evacuation of Indian citizens.
Iran instructed travelers to share their details—names, passport numbers, and border crossing routes—with the General Protocol Department. Nearly 1,500 Indian nationals, mostly students, are reportedly stranded across various Iranian cities.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated that efforts are ongoing to move them to safer areas, and evacuation via Armenia is being considered. Students had earlier raised concerns about nearby missile strikes, disrupted water supply, and poor internet connectivity.
