Kerala Private Bus Operators Announce Statewide Strike Tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram, July 7, 2025: Private bus operators across the state are set to launch a strike tomorrow, July 8, following the failure of talks with the Transport Commissioner. The Joint Action Committee of bus operators has called for the strike to press their demands.

The operators are demanding an increase in student concession fares, measures to prevent the use of fake concession cards, renewal of permits for buses operating beyond 140 km, and an end to the imposition of unwarranted fines.

The committee has warned that if their demands are not addressed through further discussions within a week, they will escalate to an indefinite strike starting July 22.
