Kochi: In the second chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam, several prominent CPM leaders have been named, including former Thrissur district secretary M.M. Varghese, former minister A.C. Moideen, and MP K. Radhakrishnan.
The chargesheet, filed in the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court in Kaloor, accuses the defendants of embezzling ₹180 crore. However, Kerala Bank President A.K. Kannan and P. Biju have not been included in the accused list despite being questioned multiple times. This move comes amid the Nilambur by-election, putting the Left party under pressure.
