Riyadh: Abdul Rahim, a native of Feroke in Kozhikode, will have to wait longer for his release from a Saudi prison where he has been serving a sentence in connection with the murder of a Saudi boy. Though the victim’s family had granted pardon five months ago, removing the death sentence, the court imposed a 20-year prison sentence under public rights.
Abdul Rahim has already served 19 years, and it is expected that he may be released within a year. The incident dates back to November 2006, and he was sentenced to death in 2012.
