New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has granted anticipatory bail to Pooja Khedkar, who allegedly secured an IAS position using fake certificates. The court ordered a bail bond of ?35,000, and imposed strict conditions: she must not interfere with the investigation or attempt to influence witnesses.
In 2024, the Delhi High Court had denied her bail, but the Supreme Court overturned that decision.
The verdict came from a bench comprising Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma. During the hearing, the lawyer representing Delhi Police strongly opposed the bail, stating that Khedkar was not cooperating with the investigation. However, the bench dismissed this argument, questioning the seriousness of the allegations.
